A New York judge held former President Donald Trump in contempt of court Monday over his refusal to turn over documents in an ongoing investigation conducted by New York Attorney General Letitia James into whether Trump fraudulently reported the value of real estate holdings in financial statements.

A New York judge held former President Donald Trump in contempt of court Monday because of the Trump Organization's refusal to turn over documents to New York Attorney General Letitia James as part of an ongoing investigation into whether it fraudulently reported the value of real estate holdings in financial statements.​

State Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron ruled that Trump must pay a fine of $10,000 per day until he complies with a subpoena for business records related to the investigation. James, whose investigation centers on whether the Trump Organization misstated the real estate values of skyscrapers and golf courses to obtain better loan and insurance terms, had asked the judge to impose the fine. As part of her investigation, James is also seeking to interview two of the former president's children, Ivanka and Donald Jr. In March, Engoron sided with James, ruling that the younger Trumps could be deposed in the investigation. Trump's lawyers have also appealed that decision.​

“Instead of obeying a court order, Mr. Trump is trying to evade it. We are seeking the court’s immediate intervention because no one is above the law,” James said on April 7.​

I did some more Goggle searching about more details concerning the events of Jan.6th. After closely watching an 8 minute long video, I believe it was presented by ABC news. What happened was not right period ! There still is to many unanswered questions as to why this happened. Who was really behind this riot, there were trouble makers that had gathered even before President Trumps speech began, who were these people really? What was the real motive and intent? There was violence and fighting between Capital Police and those attempting to cause destruction, it became a situation where some were rioting. There were Trump supporters there who were not using sound judgement or common sense, many more were simply following the crowd mentality and had no plans or even intention to cause trouble.

The FBI and the court system is working to address who did what and why. Other than trespassing by entering the Capital Building many are guilty of nothing else. Those fighting, damaging, climbing on and breaking the windows deserve to be punished.

All of the rioting, injuring and destruction done after the George Floyd death was done in much like manner only the results became way more violent, destructive and deadly. I imagine that most of the people protesting were not the real trouble makers, many were younger rebellious white high school and college students looking for excitement and following along like sheep, only with time it came down to many of them taking a more destructive and violent role.
