This video is obviously for all people who are interested in politics, not specifically for China.I don't see any Chinese subtitles. I guess it's the settings on my computer. Guess that's just a youtube global settings thing. And I was wondering who would make a cartoon political video targeted at Chinese, when youtube is not even available in China.
Their behavior is easy to explain. They are just using this incident to seek political interests for themselves, and trying to expand this incident as much as possible, so that they can get more political chips.Upheaval Over Race Reaches Met Museum After Curator’s Instagram Post (Published 2020)
The post by a longtime department chairman, saying monuments should be protected from “zealots,” prompted staff charges that the museum fosters “a culture of systemic racism.”www.nytimes.com
As an academic, I find all these just so wrong. Now top museums are ****** to do Red Guards-style self criticism whenever they challenge protesters' logic that monuments have to be removed or demolished.
Humanity has come a long way. History is not always pleasant. These monuments reflect an inescapable history - that the US is indeed shaped by sins like racism and slavery and violence against Native People.
For most of the 'offensive' monuments and statues that left wing protesters want removed, I think substantial changes can be made to their descriptions so that the history is properly balanced and transmitted. (Eg this man built this town, but he also enslaved many people. That man founded this university, but his wealth was obtained from lands stolen from Natives.)
I do not think removing all Confederate monuments and replacing them with statues to celebrate Native Americans and black slaves is going to help us understand history at all. These monuments were built to remember bad people, but the fact is that these bad guys were the decisionmakers in these days, not their slaves or their victims.
The political left had my sympathy at the start of the George Floyd protests. Floyd had died a very unjust death. But it's gotten way out of hand. Very soon the extreme left is going to demand that Washington DC be renamed to (Harriet) Tubman DC because we can't memorialize a slaveowner.
This is how the political left snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. Every time I am feeling sympathetic to their causes, they overreach and I step back in disgust.
This is an "American Cultural Revolution". I saw the American style "Lin Biao" and "Jiang Qing", but unfortunately, I did not see the American style "Deng Xiaoping".
The full name of the cultural revolution is "proletarian cultural revolution", which was initiated by Mao Zedong. The original intention is to correct the interference of capitalism and strengthen the socialist line with Chinese characteristics. However, after the launch of the movement, it was used by Lin Biao and Jiang Qing to eliminate dissidents until it was extended to the people, which brought a heavy cost to China. In 10 years, China wasted 10 years. When I read Jung Chang’s Wild Swans many years ago, I could not fathom why the Chinese Red Guards behaved as they did. Did they really hate their own culture and tradition and social institutions and authority figures that much?
But now I’m seeing the Red Guards in action in my own country. Or maybe I should call them Black Guards, since everything they’re doing is in the name of black people.
Are you conflating the protests, BLM agenda and looting?Forum members might have noticed that I haven’t posted much about sex recently. It’s all politics.
Can’t even, in guy terminology, ‘get it up’ these few months.
It’s as though I have been having a super long bout of flu. No mood for sex at all.
Why?
The general state of the nation has been troubling me for quite a while.
Consider this article
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/03/us/minneapolis-government-george-floyd.html?
Am thoroughly conflicted.
As a fence sitter or independent voter, I don’t have the luxury of taking any side and living in a comfortable echo chamber where everyone reinforces my views. So I feel it is terrible that innocent people have been beaten and killed by law enforcement, and I also feel it terrible that innocent people have lost their livelihoods and businesses.
The whole progressive or woke claim that lives are more important than property is utterly deceptive.
We are not faced with situations where police must choose between killing some innocent black guy, and preventing a building from being torched.
The killing was done first.
After which came the burning and the looting.
Protesters couldn’t have stopped the police from killing people unjustly.
But they could have stopped themselves from burning and looting.
The Protesters portray themselves as the good guys, but they also attack and destroy completely unrelated people.
What is most wrong however, is not that some people got emotional and started destroying things. It’s that the leaders and representatives of the protesters defended the burning and looting.
Burning and looting is not right, and it is not even representative of most protesters. More than 20 million people turned out to demonstrate, and probably no more than a tenth were actively involved in burning and looting.
So why is it that so many people on the political left can’t condemn the violence and actively act to ensure that protesters are orderly and don’t cause public harm?
And what about the unjust killings by police, you say?
The unjust killings are for courts and juries to settle. And even if many police are given the benefit of the doubt, police do get held responsible. Amber Guyger for instance, got ten years for *******. I’m pretty sure these ten years in prison will be extremely uncomfortable for her, given the fact that she is both ex-police and the racial aspect of the *******.
Peaceful demonstrations, or letter writing campaigns, or anything symbolic – will exert enough pressure on local prosecutors to go after the violent police.
Burning and looting will only hand ammunition to the law and order crowd who really like to see (mostly black) heads being bashed with truncheons.
Are you conflating the protests, BLM agenda and looting?
To tell you the truth, you Americans really confuse me. Haven't you been opposing elite bureaucrats and authoritarian governments? Haven't you been pursuing personal freedom?Conflating all these typically starts with the villains in the background. Call them the good ol boys, the Republicans, the country club crowd, etc.
The right wing media will definitely conflate them together.
The problem is that the democrat asses are just as incapable of demonstrating leadership and discipline. Instead of condemning the violence in loud-enough terms, they keep pushing the view that people are mad because of injustices, and defending the looting and violence as legitimate responses to state violence. They're responding to hate with hate.
You can't be too greedy.
BLM does nothing but create more hate among regular people. The only people bending over to kiss BLM ass, are the cucks of politics. You are farther dividing everyone else. Are you conflating the protests, BLM agenda and looting?
Are you aware of all of the changes that have already been instituted?
Businesses and governments are actually implementing policy changes for the better.
I ask that first question because it appears the entities that are targeted are able to distinguish between the three and complying with an agenda that makes it better for all Americans. BLM has been the biggest ******* of change in 50 years.
One-tenth of 20 million is 2 million. That's more people than we have locked up in our already world record high number of prisoners. In Chicago, it's been dozens of looters, verses the hundreds of thousands of protestors that had the city locked down.
BLM does nothing but create more hate among regular people. The only people bending over to kiss BLM ass, are the cucks of politics. You are farther dividing everyone else.
This won't end well, no matter how it gets played
Look at Trump's opponent, a 78 year old man. What can you expect him to do? stay awake?I’m posting this link in response

Not going to sum up this article. It delves into nuances about race and identity politics (including BLM and hate) that seem to be lacking in so many political debates nowadays.
If you’re interested, check it out. For serious readers, leans liberal but nonpartisan.
Having taught students in the same age group as the subject being interviewed, Julian von Abele, I would suggest that von Abele comes across as a pretty genuine, serious guy who is trying to navigate between what the author calls the "false binary of two choices" - either be a hard rightist and defend white identity, or be a hard leftist and attack white identity.
As the author says (and I agree): "lots of young people lack the wisdom to choose a third way".
If you demonize and cancel von Abele for wanting to defend white identity, you make a permanent enemy out of someone who doesn't need to be an enemy.
If you praise and support von Abele, it can easily go down the wrong way and reinforce societal problems and fault lines.
Navigating these currents is a delicate process indeed. It is completely over the heads of the right-leaning conservative ******* who never question their parents and the establishment. It is also completely over the heads of the woke left progressives and their circular firing purity-testing squad.
Look at Trump's opponent, a 78 year old man. What can you expect him to do? stay awake?
We knew it was a tragedy before the talk show started.
Both candidates are ancient ghouls that can barely complete a sentence.
Biden's VP will likely be president before the official end of Biden's term. We'll see who gets chosen soon (I personally wish it would be Stacey Abrams, but it won't be)
