The management of the covid was disastrous but they took charge, the efforts paid off. But I suspect the authorities of smoothing out the death toll in order to show that the epidemic is contained without however lying about the final death toll.

Absolutely not. The final results will be the real one and the situation will still be much better than in most countries of the West. I only think that they smooth the results so as not to scare the population. We will therefore have roughly the same number of deaths for a long time.

There may be pressures on certain discreet personalities but on a subject like this, the Kremlin is not omnipotent. IT is only in the movies that we sometimes see in France that the russians can do everything in the shadow.
