Let me point out that the political left is far from being Jesus Christ. Their fake religious analogies is very grating.

I am really fed up with the Hitler analogies. I even get that in class all the time. And I am in a nonwhite, nonWestern, nonEuropean country. Just how did a low grade populist dictator who failed, get turned into Satan? Hitler isn’t Satan. He isn’t even the personification of evil. He simply wasn’t smart enough to be that evil. Hitler’s peers are fellow failed dictators Papa Doc, Idi Amin and Pol Pot, not Lucifer Morningstar. Any time of day, your average Goldman Sachs banker or top New York Lawyer can beat Hitler flat in being ruthless and cunning and having no empathy.

let me point out, the proper analogy is more like:

Mussolini vs Breznev

If we voted for Trump, we get Mussolini.

If we voted for Hillary, we get Breznev.

Under such circumstances, it wouldn’t be irresponsible to vote third party so that we can live with ourselves.

I can’t say this out in public when I am in academia, but it is really very, very offensive to hear another of these left wing diatribes that if you don’t support their candidate you must be supporting Hitler complete with genocide and world war. This alarmist straw man building completely insults my intelligence.

Just like that time Albright and Steinem said there was a special place in hell for women who don’t vote for Hillary.

For the first time in my life, I actually felt that Hillary was a witch and that the three of them were like Macbeth’s wicked witches.

Fire and brimstone bigotry is something you associate with the religious right, not with the intellectual left. When the intellectual left starts turning into religious zealots, they destroy their own base of sympathizers. I personally know some young women who just stopped voting Democrat after that. They didn’t go so far as to vote Republican, but they either went third party or just didn’t show up to vote. (And at least one wrote in Bernie Sanders.)

I do think. a third party vote is a wasted vote......and you are afraid to make a choice...you knew before the election what the percentage was when you voted...so same as a no vote...and should not have a complaint about politics!
until a third party steps up to the plate...in time to make a decent showing...and campaigns like the others...and knows as much about the subjects as the other 2...waste of time...usually third party wants you to vote for them over their one main topic...and no knowledge of anything else.....no one going to vote for that...although it worked for trump...knew nothing of foreign policy and still made it

What if Trump wins a second term? By the end of that second term, enough ex-Republicans would be miserable enough that they are looking for a third party. At the same time, the political left will have gone so foaming at the mouth crazy, that the moderates and center left want to flee from the Democrats too.

Maybe that would be a great time for me to run as a third party candidate.

Right this very minute the Right are trying to figure out HOW to cheat another ELECTION WIN for themselves. They're the ones manipulating the voting by every means possible ... even taking credit for health care now ... saying they support "pre-x" ... closing down more poling locations ... tossing out more voter names ... watch 'em very closely in ALL the Republican states, especially ... they're just trying to HOLD ON TO SEATS this election. I truly believe Trump would call out the military on our own citizens if given the least bit of reason to do so.

No single group or person has taken credit for organizing the mass movement of people that numbered at one point more than 7,200, but representatives from Pueblo Sin Fronteras have been quoted often by media outlets as the presumed leaders of the caravan. The group organized a similar, smaller caravan in April.

I'm not against barring felons from voting. I don't think the franchise should be extended to ******* dealers and violent crooks and people who don't pay their taxes.

What would make it fair is good enforcement. For instance, if Trump could be proven to have evaded taxes, that would be a great opportunity to bar him from voting. You still can't stop him running for office, but it would be a humiliation he can't live down.

As for voter ID laws, I think they are generally mishandled. All countries have voter ID laws.

I don't know how best to avoid laws that have disproportionate impact on disenfranchising black people, but a criminal record and lack of proper ID should be fair reason to prevent people from voting.

On the other hand I have heard many complaints over the years that white authorities in Southern states deliberately relocate polling places away from black areas. The same way they like to redistribute resources away from black communities. That should be grounds for legal challenge, and punitive damages should be awarded. It is racist to make voting too difficult to do for black people.

we don't need to import anyone...but would like the people in this country to be allowed to vote instead doing everything they can to stop it..and I won't even go into the Gerry mandering…...but you being supposedly schooled...I'm sure you have heard the phrase no taxation without representation?...we started this country on that...and yet they want people here to pay taxes and deny them the vote...explain that miss educated republican!
how about we cover all that big PAC money used to literally buy elections? hey finally got one...….but can't be changed if the right controls the gerrymandering....voting stations and etc...odds are that blacks vote democratic...do you think the right is going to allow them to vote them out of power?...not going to happen ..so defend your republicans all you want...you have not said much so far...except you las comment...but then I would think you knew the answer to that to begin with...how about the Ga AG throwing out over 300,000 voter registrations from the black neighborhoods.....even your vice pres when he was gov in Ind sent in the highway patrol to box up a bunch of new voter registrations and said they were illegal and threw them out....it goes on all the time...if you want to look and pay attention....one good cure for that...…...the no taxes with out representation would well in those circumstances don't you think? after all we started a war over that!

I’ll go out on a limb and say that I am totally the brain type. So I would rather be heartless.

Best example is that migrant convoy fiasco now developing in Central America.

I can’t vote for a party that doesn’t even understand the difference between illegal and legal immigration. These guys have no concept of borders and franchise; they don’t even comprehend that voters are legally present and people who beat down the border fences to get instant residency and a first world life are not legally present and not entitled to vote.

While I am not exactly a Trumpist (how many intelligent, internationally mobile nonreligious women can claim to be Trumpists?), I feel so disgusted that this crude and disgusting old white man is actually correct. He may be a bigot, but many of his ideas make sense. In contrast, the far left ‘progressives’ have no clue that they actually need to prioritize their country and voters and community first. Democracy is not about voting for representatives of other countries, other races, other cultures and other localities. Democracy is about voting for your own representatives to represent your interests.

I can forgive Trump for being an idiot. Trump’s not the first construction worker who whistled at me and acted rudely. But I won’t forgive the ‘progressives’ for their idiocy. A lot of them are highly educated people with access to top academic libraries and academic conferences. They have no business putting heart in front of brain.

Really hope that not one of the illegal immigrants now marching to the US border will be granted asylum.

None of us, here, really know the conditions in Central America that would make families leave their countries and chance the dangers they are making to reach a safer place. I hear living conditions are horrific in Central America due to corrupt governments.

A few years back I won a vacation trip to a nice warm country in northern South America. Made the mistake of leaving the resort to visit the capital. Grocery stores with no food and what there was way over priced. ******* stores with no *******. This is a country that has oil. Lots of it. The people are not enjoying the benefits due to corruption and multinational oil companies.

At the resort there was lots of food. The maids were all beauty queens. The resort had security to limit the number of ******* not keep them out. You could bribe the guards to let them in for 5 dollars a night, the manager was bribable for another ten and the girls cost 100 a night. These girls were selling there bodies to feed extended families not a ******* addiction.

I did buy a lot of lunches and dinners but did not partake in the ladies. I should have realized it sooner when I noticed a lot of older gentlemen and few older ladies. By the way the ratio of black men to white men was about 50 50 and the resort was selling viagra a dollar a short no percription needed at the resort ******* store right next to the cough drops and next to the condums all a step away from the coke, chips and chocolate bars.
