Dildo advice

Be careful with the Plastic Stuff ladies.. A lot of the cheaper dildos leach Chemicals that have been known to cause cervical cancer. If you are going to use one use a condom on it. Also Vixen Creations, Mr Hankeys Toys (for the size queens like me) and Tantus make wonderful Silicone Toy. A bit pricey but can be sterilized in Boiling water or the dishwasher. I love My silicone toys.

Try this one. Trust me it’s safe, and you will love the feeling!

  • Measurements in inches, Total Length = 10.8, Insertable Length = 8.1, Max Width (Diameter) = 2, Max Girth (Circumference) = 6.5
  • Removable Vac-U-Lock compatible suction cup that allows you to secure your dildo to almost any smooth surface. Great for pegging because it can be attached to a Vac-U-Lock or O-ring harness. It's also compatible with F-Machine.
  • Made From ULTRASKYN, The Most Lifelike Material In The World. Every vein, curve and bulge of this replica looks and feels like your fantasy come to life.
  • Wash with soap and water after use, let it dry completely before storage, and always use a good water based lube to keep things slick. If it gets tacky, just sprinkle liberally with some of the included ULTRASKYN Refresh powder or cornstarch to restore the silky smoothness. The powder should also be sprinkled into the Vac-U-Lock hole to make removal of the plug easier.
  • Phthalate-free, latex-free, and completely body safe. Like most of Doc Johnson's products this one is Proudly Made In America.AA273403-E452-4CB5-8A10-50FC5FBA13A2.jpeg

Silicone toys also are nonporous so they don't have pores that trap bacteria and other germs. Not only will they withstand being sanitized in boiling water but will also withstand a mild bleach solution. Don't try that with the cheaper materials.

Good silicone toys aren't necessarily pricey. Tantus often has dildos on sale for around $40, for example. The "Real Nude" dildos by Blush feel like Vixen's Vixskin and also sell for around $40. Retailers like Lovehoney and EdenFantasys also often have sales for 15-50% off or better.

i don`t consider this item truely body-safe. Labels like "phthalate-free" and "non-phthalate" only indicate that phthalates are substituted by some other plasticizer(s). Most of the plasticizers available are not even safer than phthalates! But even if the plasticizers in use were 100% body-safe there is another problem: any UR3/TPE material includes PVC. And every soft(!) plastic that contains PVC emits micro particles of chlorine which is also listed as a possible cause of cancer! :(

It is not a question of the price/costs. Every material that is soft plastic and contains (also) PVC is risky. This may be different for PE/PP based soft toys, but only as long the plasticizers and other additives (dye, etc.) in the toy are also body-safe. i wouldn`t bet on that in most cases though. ;(
When in doubt, it is recommendable to always use condoms with soft plastic toys!
Also (...) make wonderful Silicone Toy. A bit pricey but can be sterilized in Boiling water or the dishwasher. (...)
More precisely, they can be sterilized in boiling water, as most silicone can be exposed to temperatures up to 130 °C (~ = 266 °F). They can also be cleaned in a dishwasher; they cannot, however, be sterilized in a dishwasher, because a dishwasher simply doesn`t produce enough heat to do so (at most about ~ 65 °C / ~ 150 °F and not the ~ 95 °C / ~ 200 °F that would be needed for sterilization ;) ).
Be aware that even after cleaning a toy will not be (completely) free from bacteria. (But for the most part it`ll do. :) )
Silicone toys also are nonporous so they don't have pores that trap bacteria and other germs. (...)
Silicone may also be porous. In fact every soft silicone toy is. Although good quality silicone toys are only porous "from the inside" (like the Emmenthal cheese :D ) and non-porous on the outside/surface. High quality silicone products are often pricey and labeled "high quality silicone", or "platinum silicone" sometimes.
But know that some low quality soft silicone products can also be porous and hence absorb bacteria and myces just like the soft plastics do.

High quality silicone products are often pricey and labeled "high quality silicone", or "platinum silicone" sometimes.

Some of the more reputable manufacturers list what specific silicone they use. Less reputable manufacturers may blend silicone with cheaper materials or even simply have a silicone outer shell over a foam interior.

But know that some low quality soft silicone products can also be porous and hence absorb bacteria and myces just like the soft plastics do.

Very textured high quality silicone can trap germs in creases in wrinkles. Proper cleaning, as well as sanitization in boiling water, is a must for textured dildos such as ones with veins and ridges.

Question to the experts; how do the doc Johnson dildos rate regarding leaching chemicals?

It depends on the particular dildo. Doc Johnson makes nasty "sil-a-gel" dildos. They also make dildos from pure silicone. Even if they claim a toy is silicone, read the product details to make sure it's not blended with some lesser material. When in doubt, read reviews on sex toy blogs.

Thanks @Eggbert. Could you help me find info on this one in particular?

It clearly says Sil-a-Gel right on the package. Avoid it like the plague.

Even if you used a condom over the toy, the material would just deteriorate over time. Spend a few extra bucks on a toy that'll last.

The Vixen Outlaw posted above is a good safe toy, with a slightly squishy feel which all the Vixen "Vixskin" silicone toys have.
If you want larger realistic toys with balls, check out www.mrhankeystoys.com

My wife wants a thick dildo but short , I've looked around but can't find any that are short .. she likes the girth about 2" to 2 1/4 " thick bit can't handle it deep but loves balls slapping her ass .. any ideas .

This one is 9X2, but I'm guessing just 6 insert-able inches. My girlfriend loves thick dildos, but I never thought about getting ones with balls. lol
