Not surprised they got the least charges possible, and people are still up in arms over the arrests.

there will be organized militia terror activity against LGBT people within the next 3 or 4 years.

the question is whether a reactionary republican will be president, and will stand by and allow it to happen.

any democrat would send in the national guard, romney would send in the national guard. desantis would use misinformation to say the LGBT families were armed and deserved to die

Idaho officers getting death threats after arresting 31 Patriot Front white nationalists near Pride event

Idaho police said they've received death threats since arresting 31 men affiliated with white nationalist group Patriot Front near an annual LGBTQ+ event over the weekend.

Coeur d'Alene Police Chief Lee White spoke to reporters Monday, saying that his department has fielded about 149 calls in the aftermath of the arrests. He said about 50 percent of the calls have been praise from the community, who offer their names and express pride in the department.

"And the other 50 percent — who are completely anonymous, who want nothing more than to scream and yell at us and use some really choice words — offer death threats against myself and other members of the police department merely for doing our jobs," White said. "Those people obviously remain anonymous."

Governor Brad Little released a statement about the Patriot Front incident in Coeur d' Alene Saturday.
Authorities arrested 31 members of the white supremacist group Patriot Front near an Idaho pride event Saturday after they were found packed into the back of a U-Haul truck with riot gear.
In his statement Sunday, Governor Little said:
"Intimidation, scare tactics, and violence, has no place in our great state. All Americans should be able to peacefully express their constitutionally guaranteed right to free speech without the threat of violence. It is what has always set America apart from other nations. I thank the many, many Idahoans from across the political spectrum committed to peacefully demonstrating."
"I commend our brave men and women in law enforcement for their swift action in Coeur d'Alene this weekend. Their diligence and quick response help avoid a potentially terrible situation."1655161004060.png

Lawmakers announce impeachment proceedings targeting left-wing Philadelphia DA

Pennsylvania state lawmakers on Monday unveiled articles of impeachment against Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner.

State Reps. Josh Kail, Torren Ecker, and Tim O’Neal, all Republicans, cited Krasner’s alleged failure to curb “unchecked violent crime” and his “willful refusal” to “enforce existing laws” as reasons for beginning the impeachment process.

They also pointed to a recent mass shooting in the city’s downtown South Street neighborhood as “underscor[ing]” the need for lawmakers to “take immediate action."

“Unfortunately for the people of Philadelphia, and the people of Pennsylvania at large, the problem of violent crime in Philadelphia has reached a point that demands this action be taken,” Ecker said in a statement released by the state's House Republican Caucus. “Taking this step today and undertaking this process continues what we have been doing and what we need to do to combat violence and crime here in Pennsylvania — ensure the laws already on the books are enforced.”

“We did not arrive at this decision lightly or easily. In fact, we are taking this action after we have taken significant steps to pass legislation that addresses violent crime in Philadelphia by ensuring our current laws are enforced,” Kail said.

well stanley had an article thought you might like.........but now i find issues with it......if people don't agree with your teachings are they the devil?

As Southern Baptists gather, right-wing faction sounds alarms

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Southern Baptists filled a cavernous hotel ballroom Sunday to hear a warning: Don’t cooperate or compromise with the Devil. And this week, as their huge denomination gathers for its annual meeting and to elect a new president, the urgent warning was aimed at their fellow Southern Baptists.

“You don’t advance the kingdom of God by lining up with the kingdom of Satan,” John MacArthur, a dean of conservative evangelical preaching, told the audience, referring to issues from the role of women to addressing racism. “You will never advance the kingdom of God by being popular with the world. If you think you will, you’re doing the Devil’s work. How can you negotiate with people who hate Christ, hate God, hate the Bible and hate the Gospel?”

The host of the part-prayer gathering, part-campaign rally on the first night of the Southern Baptist Convention’s annual meeting was the Conservative Baptist Network, an upstart group that some observers have compared with the MAGA wing of the Republican Party. The network was formed two years ago in response to the issues of institutional racism and sexual abuse as priorities in the nation’s largest Protestant denomination.

In the Southern Baptist Convention — where women aren’t allowed to be head pastors, same-sex marriage is opposed and 70 percent of its nearly 14 million members vote Republican — the CBN’s leaders and supporters say the situation is an emergency. This week, they hope to elect a president who agrees.

Fired Fox News political editor said television news as entertainment has 'really damaged' Americans' capacity to be 'good citizens'

Fired Fox News political editor said television news as entertainment has 'really damaged' Americans' capacity to be 'good citizens'

  • A former Fox News political editor testified before the January 6 committee on Monday.
  • Following his testimony, Chris Stirewalt told NPR that television news as entertainment has hurt Americans.
  • "They confused the TV show for the real thing," Stirewalt said of some Fox viewers.
Former Fox News political editor Chris Stirewalt said he was surprised by the internal firestorm that erupted at his former workplace after Fox became the first major news network to call Arizona for President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

Stirewalt, who was fired from Fox in January 2021, testified before the January 6 committee investigating the Capitol riot on Monday, telling lawmakers that former President Donald Trump's chance at victory was virtually zero after most networks called the election for Biden on November, 7, 2020.

Trump was reportedly enraged that Fox's decision desk called the swing state of Arizona for Biden before most other outlets did the same, but Stirewalt said he was confident in his team's work. Biden ultimately won the state by about 11,000 votes.

"We were able to make a call early," Stirewalt told the committee this week. "We were able to beat the competition."

But what Stirewalt wasn't expecting was the wave of backlash at Fox that followed the accurate projection.

  • Dozens of white nationalists were arrested near a Pride event in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on Saturday.
  • A city council member told Insider that the arrests come after years of rising tensions.
  • He said "transplants" from other states have arrived in Idaho, eager to fight in culture wars.
A lawmaker in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, said his community had seen tensions building beneath the surface leading up to Saturday, when dozens of white nationalists were arrested near the city's Pride event.

Police arrested 31 members of the extremist Patriot Front group on Saturday after a concerned citizen reported seeing the masked men loading riot gear into a U-Haul near a Pride event in northwest Idaho.

Coeur d'Alene City Council member Dan Gookin told Insider on Monday that the weekend's Pride event "became a focus" for rising "anger and hatred" fueled by people's desire to engage in so-called culture wars — debates surrounding topics like LGBTQ rights, COVID-19 vaccine mandates, and how race is taught in schools.1655199877859.png

Maddow Blog | Despite earlier vows, Jim Jordan misses Jan. 6 panel’s deadline

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack gave Rep. Jim Jordan a deadline: Respond to the panel’s subpoena and sit down for a sworn deposition “no later than“ June 11.

That was two days ago. The Ohio Republican, as you probably guessed, did not answer investigators’ questions before the deadline. In fact, as Talking Points Memo reported, Jordan declared in advance his intention not to cooperate.

The far-right congressman reiterated his theories questioning the legitimacy of the bipartisan panel’s investigation and demanding the committee “assuage my concerns” — at which point Jordan will consider cooperating in ways he deems appropriate.

To appreciate the bigger picture, consider a timeline of events:

  • July 20, 2021: Jordan said, in reference to the investigation, “If they call me, I got nothing to hide.”
  • October 20, 2021: Jordan again said, “I’ve said all along, I have nothing to hide.”
  • Dec. 22, 2021: The Jan. 6 committee reached out to Jordan, asking him to provide voluntary testimony.
  • Jan. 9, 2022: Jordan announced he’d refuse to answer the committee’s questions.
  • May 12, 2022: The select committee subpoenaed Jordan.
  • May 25, 2022: Jordan said he’d refuse to honor the legal summons unless the committee gave him detailed information in advance about the nature of investigators’ questions. At the same time, the GOP congressman questioned the legitimacy of the panel.
  • May 31, 2022: The committee defended its existence and gave Jordan a new deadline of June 11.
June 9, 2022: Mr. Nothing To Hide reiterated the points from his May 25 letter, hoping to justify missing another deadline.
It’s difficult to say with confidence what the Jan. 6 committee will do now, but it remains a distinct possibility that the panel will seek a contempt vote against Jordan.

Fox News Analyst: Republicans Will Secretly Be 'Glad' If Jan. 6 Panel Damages Trump

Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume suggested that many elected Republicans are secretly hoping that the Jan. 6 House select committee ruins Donald Trump’s chances of running for president again in 2024.

The House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol is presenting its findings in a series of hearings this month. In the second hearing on Monday, it laid out evidence that Trump and his inner circle knew his claims of a rigged election were false but pushed them widely anyway, utilizing them to raise millions of dollars while seeking to overturn the 2020 election and stay in power.

During analysis on Monday’s “Special Report,” host Bret Baier asked Hume if the committee was trying to make a legal or political case against Trump.

“Well, I think they’re doing both,” Hume said.

“What strikes me about this, Bret, is that if they succeed ― either by damaging him or staining him such that he is either unable for legal or political reasons to run again ― they might end up finding out that they’ve done the Republican Party a great service,” he added.

“Because I think a great many Republicans think they can’t win with Trump at the head of the ticket again.

“They’re afraid of his supporters and don’t want to come out against him directly. But they’d like him to go away. If the effect of this committee is to make his possible candidacy go away, I think a great many Republicans would privately be very glad.”

Influential Republican Says Seniors Should ‘Take A Little Less’ To Keep Social Security From Running Out

New York (Knewz) — An influential Republican said seniors need to “take a little less” and “pay a little more in” when debating Social Security in a Fox Nation debate.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., made the comments when debating Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., on an array of issues during a “Senate Project” Fox Nation debate hosted by Bret Baier.

“Let’s do something like Ted Kennedy would do: get Republicans and Democrats to find a way — like the Gang of Six, the Simpson Bowles plan. Senator Sanders bring Social Security plan to the floor. All it does is raise taxes. To get out of this mess, people like me are going to have to take a little less and pay a little more in. We’re going to have to adjust the age one more time like Ronald Reagan and Tip — Tip O’Neil did. There is a bipartisan way forward. You describe problems, but your answer is always the government is always socialism,” Graham said.

Something the GOP members of congress are starting to become quite aware of ....

Rep. Anthony Gonzalez, a retiring Ohio Republican, warned that former President Donald Trump will claim voter fraud and try to subvert the election results again if he loses the 2024 presidential election. In a new CNN documentary, titled Trumping Democracy: An American Coup, Gonzalez discussed the possibility of the former Republican president running for the White House in 2024 and securing the party's nomination.
Trump has also targeted the nine other House Republicans who voted to impeach him and seven Senate Republicans who voted to convict him for allegedly inciting the January 6 Capitol riot. "January 6 was an unconstitutional attempt led by the President of the United States to overturn an American election and reinstall himself in power illegitimately. That's fallen nation territory, that's third world country territory. My family left Cuba to avoid that fate. I will not let it happen here," Gonzalez said. The lawmaker indicated that Trump has been attempting to remove dissidents in the GOP to clear the way for his return to the White House in 2024.
"He's going methodically state by state at races from, you know, state Senate races all the way down to county commissioner races trying to get the people who―the Republicans, the RINOs, in his words―who stopped this, who stopped him from stealing the election," he said.
Personally, having voted many times for Republican candidates in the past, Republicans need to "cut bait" NOW and take their losses rather than allow Trump to drag the entire party to a permanent doom. As much as some of us dislike the Republican PAWNS right now, we still NEED a 2nd viable party or face liberal extremism just as bad as what extreme conservatists is doing to the country now with militias & threats. Both parties should attempt to bring the parties back closer to the center.

Republican senator who led the push to end mask mandates on planes and public transport tests positive for COVID-19 for the 3rd time in a year

  • GOP Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi just tested positive for COVID-19 for the third time in a year.
  • Wicker led the push to end mask mandates for public transportation before a judge struck it down.
  • He told Insider at a press conference in March that the mask mandates should've been lifted in April 2021.
  • "Today Senator Wicker received a positive result for COVID-19 after taking a required test," Wicker's communications director, Phillip Waller, said in a statement. "He will be expected to miss votes and committee business this week until he is able to return in person to the Senate."

Seems Trump is starting to lose his Volunteer ARMY of LIARS .... now one of his lawyers, who understand the penalties of perjury speaks up ....

Eric Herschmann, who defended Trump at his first impeachment trial, was appalled by schemes to overthrow the presidential election to keep the former president in office. Hershmann particularly lambasted the incredible scenario of voting corruption pitched by long-time Trump henchman Rudy Giuliani and lawyer Sidney Powell. They concocted a confusing scheme that somehow had dead Venezuela dictator Hugo Chavez manipulating Dominion Voting System machines to affect the vote in America.
Herschmann also blasted a detailed scheme to overturn the election by “coup-memo” attorney John Eastman.
“Are you out of your effing mind?” Herschmann said he confronted the lawyer the day after the insurrection. “I only want to hear two words coming out of your mouth from now on: ‘Orderly transition,’” he added.

The Ginni Thomas Jan. 6 scandal keeps getting worse. But there's a silver lining.

According to a recent Washington Post report, Ginni Thomas’ involvement in trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election is even worse than previously known. It turns out that Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, sent two sets of emails to a combined 29 Republican state lawmakers in Arizona — 27 more than previously believed, and more than half of the GOP members of the state Legislature at the time — urging them to overturn President Joe Biden’s win in their state. In one email, she demanded that they “stand strong in the face of political and media pressure.”

In other words, Ginni Thomas was more systematic in lobbying for efforts to overturn the election that we knew. This latest bit of news is disturbing, but the silver lining is that it will likely intensify calls for overhauling the high court, and help strip more people of the illusion that the Supreme Court is an apolitical branch of government and a neutral arbiter of the law.

These revelations have exposed how vulnerable the Supreme Court is to corruption.

The emails aren’t the only piece of Thomas’ known Jan. 6-related activism. After the 2020 election, she sent then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows dozens of text messages encouraging the Trump administration to take steps to ignore the election results, maintain faith in its bogus legal claims, and keep Trump in power.

Legally, the spouse of a justice is allowed to engage in political activism. But legal experts say Clarence Thomas should not be weighing in on Jan. 6-related cases before the Supreme Court because his spouse’s Jan. 6-related activities pose a conflict of interest for him: He has an interest in making decisions that shield her (and potentially himself) from scrutiny and possible legal exposure.

And it appears that Clarence Thomas has already done just that. Even in a highly partisan court where justices often break down along party lines, he was the only justice to dissent and side with Trump when the Supreme Court ruled that Trump’s White House was required to hand documents over to the House Jan. 6 committee. And it turned out that the very collection of documents that Thomas had voted to block from public exposure contained the texts messages between his wife and Meadows.

The subpoena of documents when his wife's own texts are among the pile of documents responsive to the subpoena — that's a slam dunk," Richard Painter, who served as ethics counsel for President George W. Bush and is an MSNBC columnist, told NPR in March. "He had to recuse. He didn't. I'd want to know why."

Clearly part of the reason is that Clarence Thomas was under no obligation to do so. According to the Guardian, the Supreme Court is the only federal judicial panel in the country that is not governed by an ethics code intended to prevent conflict of interest or corruption. Supreme Court justices are supposed to recuse themselves from situations that pose conflict of interest, but they do so out of propriety rather than obligation, and at their own discretion. It's not a very robust guard against corruption, to put it lightly.

In other words, these revelations have exposed how vulnerable the Supreme Court is to corruption— and prompted Democrats to call for the Supreme Court to adopt a binding code of conduct.

But beyond ethics reforms, hopefully these developments will help persuade more of the public to view the high court with a more critical eye. The Supreme Court has become a more baldly partisan institution in recent years, and it profits from narratives — now most aggressively peddled by the right — that it is merely a board of truth-tellers with no ideology or political commitments.

As more information comes out about how the spouse of a Supreme Court justice wielded her clout to lobby for pushing the U.S. into an authoritarian state — and that her husband seemingly took efforts to shield her — the high court will lose some of its luster and reputation for independence. That in turn can help open up space for talking more seriously about the need to reform the way the whole thing operates.

That would be kinda KEWL, don't ya think ... the wife of a sitting POTUS going to JAIL. Don't think that has ever happened in the history of the USA!
Maybe Clarence Thomas could get bumped down to Traffic Court ... how sweet that'd be.
