Poll after poll shows the GOP is out of step with public opinion

Dark clouds hang over Democratic political prospects in the fall as consumers feel the bite of historic inflation, but the GOP may be worse off — facing down the challenges that are about to hit the fan.

The carnage caused by the Capitol insurrection isn’t the only problem that will test the GOP prospects for taking control of Congress in November. The Jan. 6 hearings dominate headlines but the investigation is only one of three major threats the GOP must overcome now to take back control of Congress in November.

The GOP must also contend with blowback from the headwinds that will follow if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade and if the rash of mass murders continue.

The GOP resistance to the investigation of the brazen attempt to undermine the certification of the results of a fair and democratic election, the party’s opposition to women’s reproductive choice as well as universal background checks for gun purchase expose it as the anti-democracy party that doesn’t share the values of most Americans

The Republican Party appears content for embattled former President Donald Trump to be the face of the party. The blemishes on his presidency are front and center in the early stages of the televised Jan. 6 Committee hearings on the failed coup that attempted to upend democracy in America. The hearings have highlighted attempts from Trump to pressure then-Vice President Mike Pence to not certify the election results, as well as more than $390 million Trump and his allies raised under the guise the funds would be used to overturn the election.

GOP resistance to the investigation and the party’s defense of Trump fly in the face of public opinion. A recent CBS News national poll found that seven in 10 American thought it was important to find out what happened on the day of the insurrection.

IKYFL: GOP Senate Nominee Herschel Walker Has Three "Secret Children"

Another day, another ridiculous revelation attributed to Herschel Walker’s campaign. The Root previously reported all of the GOP Senate nominee’s fabrications including: knowing a cure for Covid, having a degree and most recently, being a cop. How he’s made a clear path to nearly representing Georgia in the Senate is beyond, well, all of us.

Now another allegation which further demonstrates his hypocrisy has come to light: he secretly fathered three children.

After The Daily Beast unearthed this information through court documents and public posts on Tuesday, Walker’s campaign manager, Scott Paradise, confirmed that it was true.

Senate Democrats demand answers for ballot rejection rate in Special Primary

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - A group of Democrats in the State Senate are demanding an explanation for the number of ballots being rejected in the ongoing Special Primary in Alaska.

On Tuesday, June 14, the group sent a letter to the Division of Elections and Lieutenant Governor Kevin Meyer calling the rate of rejection “staggering and unacceptable.”

In particular, the Senators pointed to rejection rates between 9 percent and 18 percent in locations from Mountain View in Anchorage to the Yukon Delta and Bethel.

The letter was signed by Senators Bill Wielechowski, Tom Begich, Elvi Gray-Jackson, Scott Kawasaki, Jesse Kiehl and Donald Olson.

A group of election losers in Kentucky are asking for recounts. It’ll cost them thousands

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A handful of Republican candidates who lost primaries in May are asking for recounts, even in races where some of them lost by several thousand votes.

One problem for them: cost.

Recount costs are projected by local and state officials to amount to several thousand dollars, and the petitioners are none too happy about it. Per state law, any challenger must pay a bond set by a local circuit judge.

Judges have set bond amounts to be paid by two of the six petitioners, if they want to go through with the recount efforts, at more than $21,000.

A recount effort in Louisville’s 3rd Congressional District primary, according to the Courier-Journal, would cost one candidate a $375,000 bond. State Board of Elections Attorney Taylor Brown said a similar challenge in the 5th District, where a candidate lost by more than 68,000 votes, would cost six figures.

The price tags are high, according to circuit court judges that have set bonds for petitioners Bridgette Ehly and Courtney Gilbert, because of staffing, security, fuel and hauling equipment to move the voting machines, among other expenses.

Nebraska man gives DOJ election task ******* first guilty plea

ANebraska man pleaded guilty Thursday to threatening an election official, in the first plea to the Justice Department’s Election Threats Task *******.

Travis Ford, 42, threatened an election official over Instagram, making comments such as, “Your security detail is far too thin and incompetent to protect you. This world is unpredictable these days….anything can happen to anyone.”

“Do you feel safe?” Ford also commented. “You shouldn’t. Do you think Soros will/can protect you?”

George Soros is a philanthropist and donor to democratic causes.

Ford posted similar threatening comments on the Instagram pages of President Biden and another unnamed public figure.

Attorney General Merrick B. Garland expressed that the DOJ “will not tolerate illegal threats of violence” against election officials.

Did You Know The NRA Supported Gun Control When The Black Panther Party Was Armed

In the wake of two high-profile mass shootings in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas, the gun control debate in America continues. Mass shootings in the U.S. occur at alarming rates. In the first 22 weeks of 2022, there were around 246 mass shootings in America. Even with outrageous numbers like that, gun control is still a divisive point of discussion in American society. But this discordance around guns is nothing new—gun restriction debates have always been part of America’s history.

there you go......want gun control.....arm the black lives matter people

BLM isn't an armed organization, or an organization at all for that matter. it's just large nonviolent protest organized by completely distinct groups aligned only on ideology

black panthers and other marxist-leninist groups still exist. we just need to fund them more

mac tell your boyfriend to stop flirting with you in chat instead of talking about politics again, thanks
He's a first class piece of gif_chicken3.gifgif_CRAP.gif for sure. Stalks me all over this website, harassing me and starting arguments. Probably a good 1/2 of the arguing could be stopped if the Admin would just kick his ass off the website. No kidding!
And he's definitely NOT my BF.

The third public hearing into the Capitol riot heard evidence that:
Donald Trump was repeatedly told his plan to overturn the election result was illegal, even by the lawyer urging him to do so.
•Attorney John Eastman asked for a pardon after pushing a scheme to pressure then vice-president Mike Pence into unilaterally rejecting electoral votes from swing states won by Joe Biden.
•Video depositions made public revealed that Mr Trump knew the plan to have his vice-president commandeer the 6 January 2021 session of Congress and declare themselves winners of the election violated the law.
•The hearing also heard that Trump supporters were infuriated by Mike Pence’s refusal to go along with the plan and that during the riot – when many were chanting “Hang Mike Pence” Trump was aware of the crowd chants.
• Mr Jacob told the panel of an Oval Office meeting which Mr Eastman participated in on 4 January 2021 — two days before a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol in hopes of preventing Congress from certifying Mr Biden’s 2020 election victory. During that meeting Mr Eastman told the then-president that his plan violated the Electoral Count Act, an 1887 law which governs the procedures by which Congress counts the electoral votes needed to certify presidential elections.
• Mr Trump’s effort continued when, following the news that a mob had breached the Capitol grounds, the president tweeted that Mr Pence “didn’t have the courage” to unilaterally step in to affect the electoral outcome, enraging the rioters and leading them to begin chanting “Hang Mike Pence” as they streamed through the Capitol. Mr Trump’s decision to do so also contradicted the advice of others in his orbit, including his deputy White House counsel, Eric Herschmann.
Ivanka Trump, the former president’s d.aughter-turned-senior-adviser, recalled how Mr Trump had reacted angrily to Mr Pence’s declaration that he would not unilaterally reject the election results. Mr Trump’s pressure campaign triggered anger against Mr Pence.
• The select committee also presented evidence that Mr Trump’s reaction to Mr Pence’s decision not to unilaterally reject swing state electoral votes egged on the angry mob outside the Capitol that had gathered at the former president’s behest.
Poster's Note: READERS should NOTE that these testimonies & witnesses are from Donald Trump's own staff & legal representatives as well as family members.

I like to stick with facts.
And it may be that I am misunderstanding something. As I understand it, there are Two Different aspects to BLM movement.
One of them is, indeed, an organization founded by Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi

There is a more broad movement, that adopts the "Black Lives Matter" slogan. And there is an Activist Organization.
I fall under the former; that is I support the slogan. Black Lives Matter - and our society treating black lives as mattering less than whites in either schools, under police actions or in finances must be addressed. We do not see Actual Equality in this day and age. Many people fall into this category, without being much aware of the BLM organization and all of its activist priorities.

There is an organization that operates under direction.

"While there are specific organizations that label themselves simply as "Black Lives Matter," such as the Black Lives Matter Global Network, the overall movement is a decentralized network of people and organizations with no formal hierarchy.[8] The slogan "Black Lives Matter" itself remains untrademarked by any group.[9] Despite being characterized by some as a violent movement, the overwhelming majority of its public demonstrations have been peaceful.[10]"

anyone can make an organization and call it BLM, and some have that are larger. But at its core, BLM is really a hashtag
