Politics, Politics, Politics

Well, I filled my pickup this morning with gas that cost $4.29/gallon... There's no rhyme or reason for that... There is absolutely no reason why we can't be producing enough petroleum products in the United States to make gasoline not only affordable, but cheap... Democrats work hard to drive prices up hiding false environmental scare tactics.... Just like covid, anything that is highly politicized, should not only always be questioned, but automatically discredited about 9.9 out of 10 times.
How to say you don't understand the drivers of fuel prices without using those words.

I know you guys are complaining about gas stateside...Here in Portugal it´s 2.25 euros per liter...My gal went out on bought a 2k smart car for her business...She´s a tiny little thing...I was surprised how roomy the little fucker was for a big ole fart like me...Parallel parked it between two tiny ass cheeks...Another side note...I am starting see Ford Raptors here...Which is crazy...The parking in the Cities is Impossible...Cost...Ford F-150 Raptor SVT 5.4L V8 64,900 euros...Insane...;)

I would like to expound a bit on my belief that the 2 party system we have is such a failure.

I have stated many times in the threads that career politicians, those in BOTH parties, each seem to have one common goal... Keeping the public totally divided. When they see friends losing friends over political disagreement, even families divided, they know that they will be able to not only keep their jobs, but pervert the power given them by the people...

They simply cannot survive a UNIFIED electorate... The last time it sort of happened was right after 9/11, and it scared the blue hell out of them..

We the people have a common enemy... Is it Democrat? Yes... Is it Republican? Also yes.
Go ahead and expand .... how would you change it?
The solution is simple, and will never happen.
Remove ALL corporate/interest group donations-citizen donations only.
The first job of any politician is to get elected. The second is to stay in office. Corporations do not consider citizen interest, they follow the corporate interest, primarily share holder interest. It now costs millions to reach federal level elected positions. Take the money out, eliminating all the TV ads and crap flooding your mailbox and get them back to going door to door, neighborhood to neighborhood- the people they are supposed to represent.

I COMPLETELY understand the drivers of fuel prices... Tell us, how much $$/gallon is profit? Do you know?
For the last couple of years I kept directing attention to the price of oil per barrel.

The highest price EVER was in July 2008, over $180/per barrel. May 9th was $105/per barrel. Profiteering is definitely one part of it. But another that needs to be recognized is this-many of the federal tax cuts over the last twenty years resulted in states having budget shortfalls that were covered by increases in state gas taxes.

Republicans have spent the year and a half since Donald Trump’s election loss claiming without evidence that Democrats have been working to rig the nation’s elections. They’ve pointed to Pennsylvania, in particular, one of the main battlegrounds in the right’s effort to overturn the 2020 election results. The conspiracy theory that the state’s elections were crooked has been pushed so fervently that voting officials even sued Trump and his cronies for defamation over the unfounded allegations.
But as is proving to be the case across the nation, in Pennsylvania it’s Republicans who seem to be the ones trying to game the system to their advantage. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported last week that Billy Lanzilotti, a 23-year-old GOP operative and chairman of South Philadelphia’s Republican Registration Coalition, was signing voters up to receive mail-in ballots, but having the ballots sent not to the homes of the voters, but to the PAC’s P.O. box. Republican leaders voted on Saturday to remove him from his post as the leader of Philadelphia’s 39th ward, and the Inquirer reported on Wednesday that two state party staffers were fired because of their affiliation with Lanzilotti’s PAC.
The report detailed how dozens of mail-in ballots were being delivered to the P.O. box instead of to the voters. Lanzilotti admitted that he indeed filled in ballot forms with the address of the P.O. box. “I didn’t do anything that to my understanding was against the law,” Lanzilotti told the Inquirer, adding he was acting out of “convenience to the voter.”
The potential ballot harvesting scheme is only the latest example of Republicans playing fast and loose with election law. Elderly residents of a Miami housing project earlier this year claimed Republican canvassers duped them into changing their party affiliation from Democrat to Republican, prompting calls for an investigation. A few hundred miles away in The Villages, a MAGA-happy retirement community, several residents who have expressed support for Trump were busted for voter fraud after voting twice. Mark Meadows, Trump’s former chief of staff who was at the center of the administration’s effort to overturn the 2020 election, is currently under investigation for voter fraud after registering in multiple states. He was kicked off the voter rolls in his home state of North Carolina last month.

That’s what you just did. Lol

It’s ok you were tricked into voting for this, you were not the only one. At least 10 million other people were too

Its the few thousand that are too insecure to admit they were tricked, that are helping them ruin your country.

And if you claim you weren’t tricked, then Why are you complaining about inflation? This is what you wanted.
This is what you voted for. Stop complaining because high gas prices are what YOU wanted and what YOU voted for.
And you are still supporting the people who are doing this to YOU and YOUR country

And shutting down the keystone pipeline. Lol

Stop complpaining, this is what you wanted and are still supporting

That's a terrible plan ... taint gonna happen by making a wish, TnC. That's the problem with many political plans, especially Republicans. They have no plans, just "statements".
There's got to be meat to the plan ... what turns the gears ... makes it work? Obviously, asking or telling the politicians to be "good little boys & girls" ain't gonna happen. Have you not researched suggested solutions on the internet?
For way too many years the politicians have been setting legislation like a fox guarding a hen house. Now they get more perks than ever, work less hours than ever, pass less legislation than ever, spend less time addressing the needs of the country, but spend more on non-voter needs for themselves than ever before.
How do we, as a country, start requiring our politicians to do what they SAID they were going to do when they ran for office. There ARE SOLUTIONS, but I thought you said you had some ideas. Yes? No?
Stop voting for communist democrats. Problem solved.

A judge’s ruling that a new congressional map drawn by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ staff is unconstitutional has been appealed by the state.
“Because this Court has found a violation of the Florida Constitution and that there is time to remedy the violation, this Court must consider what remedy is appropriate,” Smith said in his order. “This Court finds that a narrow remedy — one that addresses only the diminishment discussed in this order — is the most appropriate.”

Smith ordered that a map drawn by a Harvard professor who testified for the plaintiffs should be used, but the state’s appeal keeps the DeSantis map in place. The case goes to the 1st District Court of Appeals.

Florida gained a 28th congressional district because of population growth over the past decade, meaning Smith couldn’t have ordered current maps to be used while the lawsuit continues.
DeSantis has said Lawson’s district is gerrymandered based on race and claimed that violates the U.S. Constitution. He has said his map is neutral on race. Lawson’s district extends 200 miles (320 kilometers) from Jacksonville to Gadsden in an effort to link Black communities.
LIARS, LIARS, LIARS Pants On Fire! Republicans can't WIN without cheating the system, poor "thangs"!

Just another mockumentary of the "voter fraud" Trump believers. Same "believers" who believed Donald Trump's 5 year "birther" claim of Obama.
And the same ones who thought the beach scene & story of "Saving Private Ryan" was factual, and those who blieved in Santa Claus even into high school and college ages. (gesh, get a life!)
Only one getting anything "real" out of this is Dinesh D'Zouza who is laughing all the way to the bank, feeding off the Trump Gullibles.

A tour de ******* exploring the limits of how many suckers there are willing to pay for fantasy.
Released by the Salem Media Group, 2000 Mules aspires to be a work of serious investigative reporting which will rock the foundations of American democracy. In reality, 2000 Mules is an investigative documentary in roughly the same way Reno 911 was a hard-hitting look at real-life police work. Though that doesn’t mean that D’Souza’s cash-grab won’t further pollute the political system. For instance, Kari Lake, who can’t wait to get elected governor of Arizona so she can jail her political opponents, is championing the film—which ends with a plea for law enforcement to take up D’Souza’s cause.
2000 Mules doesn’t survive the most basic fact-checks to support its most important claims. See them here, here, here, and here.
But, let’s stipulate that the film’s purpose isn’t really to present facts. Because if it were true that D’Souza had rock-solid evidence of widespread voter fraud in his possession, would a true patriot like him be selling that evidence for $29.99 per download? Bwahahaha. (In defense of D’Souza, that $29.99 was only the premium VOD price. This week he dropped it to $19.99 to buy or just $14.99 to rent. Or you can get the movie free by purchasing an annual subscription to his Rumble channel!)

It’s better to view the film as a performance piece, a comedic triumph where the joke is on the rubes gullible enough to give D’Souza their money.

Obviously if you're one of the "dumber than a door-knob" group who have already sprung for the original purchase price, you'll believe D'Souza's film at all cost. What it truly reveals is just how gullible the Trumptard crowd really is to BS & hatred of Biden and/or Democrats.
Let's see if Trump starts pushing this film to his waddling ducklings behind HIM. I bet it'll happen.

So your whole post basically is an admission that you haven't seen the film, have no first hand knowledge of that which you are criticizing and you're just parroting what a left wing rag like the Bulwark told you. Unsurprising...

I see the red dislike has made it's way here also....been a popular subject in many different conversations........but I will stay with my opinion.........it is just a sign of hate from the right....no comments.......just the hate sign.....needs to be more time outs since they just can not learn...unable to post anything to the conversation....just add their hate mark.....since there is no record of it......it must be their version of the finger....it's how i take it

Not so ... I first read Dinesh D'Souza's bio, then I read several reviews by film critics of the movies. I'm not about to spring money on a right-wing propaganda film that has the purpose of stirring up Right-Wing hatred.
You're so gullible ... get a life and quit bothering me you fool. You have no proof, as does that film that any of the BS mentioned is factual. If it was the Republicans & Trump would have been all over it, already.
