Two bi, I'm not sure i understand this. Are you saying it is a bad thing for govt to legislate to protect public health? The epidemic of obesity is killing lots of people every day and humans simply did not evolve to eat and ******* these amounts of calories and sugar. Do you feel that govt has no responsibility in protecting the health of its citizens? What about smoking and drinking legislation? Should that be repealed?
The government should protect it's people from the crony capitalist that misrepresent their product, hide ingredients, and false information. Then people can make their own educated decision on what to put into their body. My Body - My Choice shouldn't just apply to women, it applies to everyone. The bigger problem is the FDA allows food manufactures to produce junk - unhealthy foods and sell to the masses. They add salt and sugar to keep people addicted to their products and advertise food as "Diet" when it doesn't help you loose weight and in most case makes you gain weight. It is all about the money, not our health. (hint, if you want to know if something is good or bad for you, leave it out and see if the mice eat it. If they don't, it's not good for you) A good example of this is the "Serving Size". It has been reduced to almost a table spoon in size so when something says ONLY 200 Calories!! that means
per serving. Most people don't take the time to read further and see that the entire package is 4 servings for a total of 800 calories. The Calories listed should be the ENTIRE content, then per serving listed in smaller print. Some restaurants have taken it upon themselves to list the calories for their meals. It does have an impact on how people order.
I don't want health care weaponized. Health care professionals have already discussed using DNA testing to determine your insurance level, Diet restrictions for coverage and so on. Think about not being able, or paying a hi premium because your DNA shows you high risk for a Heart attack.
Smoking is a different situation, a smoker does not just effect his own health, he effects the health of others around him. Smoking in public, no. But if he wants to smoke in his own home or private smoking areas - have at it. Drinking only becomes an issue when the person gets *******, drives, or does other stupid ******* while intoxicated. But as far as how I live my own life - it's none of the governments business. Their job is to make sure I am well informed so I can make my own decision.
Now, lets talk about personal responsibility. If I develop obesity because I choose to ******* a 32oz mocha-latie and eat 3 family size bags of Doritos every day for 10 years. Knowing what the risk are treatment should be on me. Or at least partially. At that time I should have to carry additional insurance and /or be placed on restrictive diet or
something. People in this country are not being held accountable - just look at our government. If the government controls healthcare it will remove personal responsibility even more. People will think they can live a care free life and obesity will get even worse. Food companies will produce more and more unhealthy foods and people will make even worse health decisions.
On another token, if healthcare is going to be mandated, then I should be able to pick and choose what coverage I want to pay for. For example Right now I am paying for Maternity, and chil drens dental health among others. I'm not a woman and I no longer have chil dren under 18 - why should I be ****** to pay for those? I don't get sick, I haven't been to see a family doctor in over 30 years, why am I paying for doctor visits? All I want is life, and catastrophic healthcare. But to get that I must pay for a bunch of crap I don't need and will never use. Look at it this way, Lets say you need a 2mm socket to fix your car. Should you be ****** to buy the entire tool section at the hardware store?
This is why I asked for peoples opinion on what they thought about China's new Social credit score. It all ties in to controlling the masses. Health care in this country isn't about keeping us healthy, it's about taxing us, feeding the insurance engine, and keeping us dumb. I would have been fine with just a 2 or 3% tax increase on Medicaid and expanding it to cover more people with lower income, but that was too simple and it didn't pay off the insurance lobbyist.
I'm not against healthcare, I'm against government control of healthcare. It's there job to protect us from the vultures that inflate medications and medical cost like big farma and making sure the food that is put in front of us is healthy. Not tell us what we can or can't eat.
This video is just a joke, Oldie but goody. Funny and worth the watch but if we aren't careful this is exactly what we will all get.
