The 1896 realignment cemented the Republicans as the party of big businesses while Theodore Roosevelt added more small business support by his embrace of trust busting. He handpicked his successor William Howard Taft in 1908, but they became enemies as the party split down the middle.

Contrary to popular myth, every Republican president since and including Herbert Hoover has increased the federal government's size, scope, or power--and usually all three. Over the last one hundred years, of the five presidents who presided over the largest domestic spending increases, four were Republicans.

May 25, 2011 · In labeling Democrats as the "party of big government," Republicans may have pulled off the most audacious public relations coup since Austria persuaded the world that Hitler was a German. When President Bush took office, the government was running a budget surplus and was on its way to paying off the national debt.

I'm talking YOUR post
your words..... "Did you suggest a new government agency to watch other government agencies. Every time he goes near those programs the screaming starts from the left"
and just like my post says....the right is big on big government....they like that *******....just gives them another excuse to make gov bigger
Do you think before you. Post
The way I see it, the problem seems to be more with our capitalistic system ... we don't have true capitalism anymore. We have crony & vulture capitalists, and monopolies are coming back unless we stop it. If you recall, the last part of the 19th century & early 20th century, the country was pretty much OWNED by huge monopolies ... think it was Teddy Roosevelt that broke a bunch of 'em up.
Since when is republican for more governmentyes....are you trying to divert the subject again....something you like to do when you fuck up...…….
you right away started in on the liberals this and that with the more government statement...….I just pointed out that your party is the party of big government and out of control spending....
so adding another department is something the right would probably jump right on.....you seem offended by the facts that the right is the party of big gov!.....something you should be well aware of since it is what you support
on top of that he was being hypothetical.....you were trying to twist it to suit your own purpose....anti liberal!
It is baffling that people are ideologically opposed to properly funded public healthcare systems. You guys are being ripped off and you seem to love that and want to rigorously defend it!Quick reminder that the diversionary arguments above are irrelevant. Points at hand are-
- Medicare for all is cheaper than the current US healthcare system.
- There’s a direct correlation between Medicare for all and longevity.
- More Americans go bankrupt due to medical care than any other country on the planet.
- America has the most expensive healthcare system on the planet.
- The most wealthy country that has ever existed cannot figure out how to make healthcare a human right when far less wealthy countries do so.
Since when is republican for more government
Maybe the government should wipe your ass for you to.
The fire brigade, law enforcement, the military, & infrastructure are all paid for by tax dollars. Why do people scream “socialism” when we add healthcare to that list?
This is a fairly ignorant question
It most certainly will, Akguy ... "your chosen life style" is but one piece of the overall health insurance costs. Wellness benefits cost YOU as the insured NOTHING out of pocket ... you get your annual exam each year, your children & spouse get theirs for free ... and they determine whether you are a tobacco user or ******* or alcohol user, and whether you need a medication for things like high ******* pressure, diabetes, etc ... all paid for by the insurance. And if you choose NOT to use the medical plan they provide you, THEN it becomes YOUR issue. I can assure you, however, if you don't use your Ten Essential Services provided free. they'll be calling you AND writing you. What makes you think having a healthcare system will lead to a healthier population? That is utter nonsense. It is up to the person if they want to live a healthy lifestyle. I’m not responsible for that person just like they are not responsible for me.
Ah so a broker encourages you to invest in a certain way (by not telling YOU the whole story) and its YOUR FAULT? Nope I won't buy that.If I go bankrupt from a poor investment I blame myself and not the guy next to me. I have to get up and keep trying to make something of myself.
