With CL personals gone, what is the best resource for finding local friends?

And so before someone says ..... "well B2W of course" ...... certainly B2W is a good resource, but like all global forums there is often a real challenge finding people that are local, and especially if trying to do so quickly. In that respect CL was often very effective, even if one did have to filter through a lot of noise.

So I think forums like B2W are great for community and longer term planning, but what is everyone using now that CL personals are gone for short notice local fun?

We are on SLS as well, but they've locked down free accounts from communicating with other free members due to the recent changes that also shut down CL personals, and even when we were paid members it didn't really bring a lot of results.

So.... quick results from Doublelist

We've been looking for an established and well organized GB group in our area for YEARS, posting requests in past on CL asking if anyone is coordinating a group, creating discussion groups on swing sites, etc.... all with no luck. This was always surprising for us since we used to see these back in the Bay Area quite often, and our area here although smaller has a similarly active community. But alas, nope.

Well, went to look at Doublelist, and there was a post for this very thing. We've already exchanged some email with the organizer, and so far sounds like what we're looking for.

.... not sure how we missed Doublelist, but glad we've found it. Not worried about CL being gone anymore
