Wow, a lot to unpack here. As a happily married blk man to a white woman for 15 years now, I’d like to share my perspective. According to my wife, I was her first BBC as she is from a homogenous part of the NE and the opportunity never presented. She married her white BF right out of high school who turned out to be a physically and emotionally abusive ass. Things were so bad with this guy that the one thing I remember the most about our wedding is the very earnest and visceral directive her mom gave me as she grabbed my hands, “take care of my *******!”
