Every now and then there are kernels of truth within misguided misdirection.
Is it too bad we live in a time when crazies are plentiful - yup tis indeed - but ya see crazies don’t pay much attention to legislation.
If you're making a serious point the term "crazies" is so broad it says NOTHING. The shooter in Buffalo was NOT crazy, he was racist, as were all of the synagogue shooters around the world. And I freely admit the race designation has always been inaccurate being that it from it's origin was an American construct to justify slavery and later adapted by the Nazis to construct Aryan supremacy beliefs. The only factual, consistent referral to race to ever exist was and still is, human.
Our human behavior leads all of us (self included) to overwhelmingly insist that "I'm alright." I consider the American political discourse fractured with little or no attempt at repair with the Bush/Gore campaign of 2000 and has broadened for more reasons than one and the schism has broadened with each subsequent president (Obama, Trump and Biden).
One REAL truth is Covid and what's happened world wide since it's onset has inflicted a degree of "crazy" on each and every one of us and making believe it didn't happen to 'me' retards all of us healing.
With all the guns available ya can pass all the laws ya want - bad guys pay them NO mind.
We ALL know this to be true and the place I wish you and the right and the enthusiasts would stop demeaning and insulting those who want to change the overall position on guns.
Today, Jun 2, 2022 the ratio is 1.4 guns to 1 person. We are close, if not already there, to be UNABLE to even carry all the guns we have. You and others are very quick to point to the Dem led cities as proof that more guns are needed. You also never mention the right's opposition to even discuss their views, and yes pleas to help put a stop to it. Every major city in America is on a corridor that allows residents to purchase and transport whatever regardless of the laws on the books My easy example- Interstate 95 begins in South Miami or if you'd rather begins in Houlton, ME at the Canadian border with a reasonable chance of no search and seizure. We argue about background checks and age limits, but there is NO discussion of secondary sales. There's a bi weekly paper here with sales of anything by private parties. Cars, boats, appliances, houses, trailers, lots, etc. You get the idea. The gun/archery section almost two full pages out of 20 total.
-American Tactical 40 cal CS40 ported 4" barrel, stainless steel, 150 rounds ammo $500.
-Sig Sauer 229 Elite 9mm, night sights, 3 mags $1000
-Colt A4 AR 15 5.56 or .223 caliber $1150 asking.
-28 guage Yildiz over and under shotgun $525.
-Charger for loading M 14 M1A various chargers, reload supplies, gun safes. A few sellers do ask for ID presentation, far less than 5%. And everybody knows you can get a better deal with less hassle at ANY weekend flea market, I've got 4 that host thousands/day within an hour of my house.
Ask any LEO at any level the most perilous situation to deal with and they will tell you overwhelmingly domestic dispute. Not robberies or assaults but EMOTIONAL confrontations and they are rarely classified as any shape fashion or form of 'crazy'.
I don't believe assault weapons should be openly available. If you already have one, I want law enforcement to know that you have it.
