the divide is getting way bigger in this country
complaining about biden is one thing (god knows I love to complain about him myself)
but I just don't get it when elected representatives openly threaten to shoot the president, or make completely false claims blaming a trans kid for the recent school shooting (resulting in other trans ******* getting assaulted)
and I worry that the mainstream republicans don't even see where their party is going. it's terrifying.
it's not going to be that much longer before we're back to this kind of behavior from our representatives

Both parties suck as far as I’m concerned - until there’s term limits it’ll never change. Good luck with term limits they’ll never voluntarily vote to end their gravy train - biggest mistake the framers made was not including term limits when they set this government up IMHO.

How about removing an unfit member like Marjorie Taylor Green, or Paul Gosar, or Lauren Boebert, or Kevin McCarthy?
those people are already marginalized and have no committee assignments, and do nothing except make their party look like clowns
pelosi has a huge target on her, gets (successfully) used in campaign ads by republicans, uses her position for blatant insider trading, and supports some really terrible dem candidates (like openly anti-choice ones)

I agree that pelosi is far better at her job (whipping votes) than Schumer is.

All of that is true, but since this is politics, she also got more bills passed that any Speaker in recent history.
I know she put the clampdown on the progressives for a moment, but they had no plan of attack to get their policies passed.
And, Kevin McCarthy and Elise Stefanik are fighting to be the next speaker.
to be fair, nobody is getting jack ******* passed thanks to sinema and manchin, and the DNC's unwillingness to play hardball and just threaten to primary them

My Senator, Dick Durbin, is the next in line and trust me, he can give Mitch McConnell a run for his money on tactics.
Mitch has that Senate under lockdown better than Harry Reid\ Reid respected the institution and allowed members to vote across the party lines when it wasn't so offensive. Mitch got them all in a headlock on his side. Got pro-choice women voting against Roe v. Wade type legislation and their only black senator, voting against voting rights.
He is the master of obstruction, but pretty weak on passing legislation. That's why he'll never reach an LBJ status.

I can't believe Pelosi is the only Machelvilian type we have. Trump had a cabinet full. Nobody followed the rules or paid for anything.
honestly that is absolutely true. I think that is exactly why trump got elected. The systems and policies and mechanisms we have in place just crush most of america in to poverty, and people feel powerless against this giant crushing weight. Trump was meant to be a monkey wrench thrown into the gears. The only problem was the Trump wasn't a monkey wrench, he was someone who wanted to use those gears to enrich himself and damn everyone else.
I really don't know what the answer is. Other than to talk to people and help them realize that actually we do have unfathomable power if we can work together.
