Apr 11, 2016 · For a comprehensive list of why Trump is not a conservative, see here. 101. Trump: "I don't condone violence.” Trump: "I'd like to punch him in the face.” That's not even a complete list. Trump's dishonesty is so awe-inspiringly pervasive that it would be nearly impossible to catalogue those lies in comprehensive fashion.

Just one random rant, but I'm getting very tired of the intellectually bankrupt Sinophobic nonsense in the US media.
(I just bought a Huawei barely 6 months ago, when this crap had to happen.)

Huawei is constantly accused of stealing technology. And it is also constantly held up by alarmists that it is super far ahead in technology, that it is 2 years ahead, that it has an insurmountable lead, that no one else can beat Huawei unless the US bans it from trading, whatever.

So Huawei stole technology and is ahead by 2 years at least?

Does that mean Huawei took Doc's DeLorean to the future, stole US technology after it was invented, came back and is now ahead of everyone else with the stolen tech?

So far the US government has produced no evidence that Huawei has built security traps and threats in its hardware.

Considering how many BILLION Huawei phones, routers and other equipment there are in the market, it should be easy peasy to grab a few, hand them to the NSA, and let the NSA guys do their thing. The NSA is capable of spying on everyone plus they are responsible for the current EternalBlue attacks in Baltimore. If someone knows about hacking and threats, it should be the NSA. If all the paranoia and fear and alarmism in the world still can't incentivize the NSA to find problems in Huawei stuff, then there is no problem in Huawei stuff.

If Huawei is a real security threat, I suspect it is because they got hold of that DeLorean. Not because Huawei can, or is about to, spy on anyone.

and your point is...…..

and yes they are stealing technology.....2 years ahead....pretty easy...….you see it in the development stage...….devote a lot of manpower and time....more than most biz do...….and you get a finished product ahead of others....where as we may have one or two or three working on it....they put a team devoted to that item

It's a common business tactic. When one company produces something another was also working on, the company that lost the race will scream foul - Kind of like how Democrats cry when they loose an election. But in this case, It's all about the money and it boils down to who has more money and better lawyers.

Thankfully our Criminal justice is "Innocent until proven guilty", well at least for now. But unfortunately on the Domestic side of things you are guilty until proven innocent. All a company need to do is file suit - they don't even need proof of the accusation. Just ask Monsanto. ;) It is up to the accused to prove the accusation false.

Um, that's not stealing if they got the idea from someone else and developed the idea properly before the someone else could.

Copyright law protects the expression of ideas, not the ideas themselves. Patent law protects defined industrial processes, not concepts.

In academia all the time, we trade ideas. Scientists and researchers get together and talk and share ideas even if they know full well someone works for Huawei and someone for Apple and someone for Cisco.

If Huawei scientists talked to someone and decided to work harder and faster at finding a solution to the same concept, that's not stealing at all. No wonder Huawei's critics can't sue it for a trillion dollars. In lawsuit crazy America with 2.5 million lawyers walking around, do you think Huawei could really have stolen stuff without being sued for nine and ten figure damages? But the complainers can't win their lawsuits saying that someone developed a process faster than them.

Chinese scientists work REALLY hard. As a low ranking academic who was never on tenure track, I admit that I can only go so far in my field. But what makes the difference between Assistant Professor, Tenured Professor, Titled Professor and someone who is at the top of his field in the private sector making 10 times as much as a titled professor? Sheer hard work. Huawei's scientists are top grade PhDs who literally slave away 360 days a year, 14 hour days until they arrive at their goals. Show me a US academic who does that. (Not me.)

just keep in mind 2bi is a trump lover from the git go...and anti left in every comment he makes and can not carry on a conversation without going into his hate for the left and his love for trump

why wouldn't it be stealing....everyone has an idea of somekind on something...and if you are in a biz that needs and uses those ideas and are working on them...….another company/country can not get their ideas off the ground and steal what you have and go to work on it....
