I can kind of see your point there, and I've heard that argument before... but still. Personally I feel, it should not be said by anyone.
Good for you, your reasoning is logical. But we don't live in logical times. A lot of racial polarity causing racial stress exist these days. Everyone has their own agenda with the right to take offense towards anything said to them.
The "N" word is a
"privileged" word ... based on
who's saying it,
when its said, and
how its used. The "N" word has
multiple meanings if being said by
black people,
limited meaning if spoken by white females while they're getting fucked, and as a
demeaning insult if spoken by white males with no exceptions. You
rarely ever hear of black people
"dressing down" another black person for using the word towards other black people. Heck, every other sentence in their music includes the "N" word.
And, of course its ok to use racial slurs toward white males anytime ...
"cracker",
"honky", etc. White males rarely pay white racist words meaningful attention. To insult a white male you have to hit him where it hurts ... at his possessions ... wife, money, job, ego etc.
My opinion is racial words should never be spoken, period. I can understand it's used when one is called that racist word first ... it simply brings a reminder to the original instigator of a racial word toward someone else. A retaliatory response. Still doesn't make it right.
