How and when did the term " thick" become a complimentary term to describe a woman's body?

i think mostly Black guys use it that way who want to look educated and get rid of assumed ghetto gang membership which would perhaps be the case if they were using "phat" instead. :D "Fat" on the other hand is still negatively connoted. jm2ct's
Dude wtf are you talking about? If u arent a black Male stop tryna assert your theory on why we do/say *******. The word thick isn't a new term for us and it has NOTHING to do with being educated or anything gang related. Your views and opinions just come off as ignorant

Bruh he's trying to make himself feel knowledgeable and important. it ain't working. lol

As most of the brothers here have stated, we always had a term big booty chicks! Thick is just one of the latest terms, it’s not our fault if people outside the culture is not keeping up!

I for one was insulted when I first heard someone describe me that way...
I've come to learn that it's complimentary and now like being described that way.
A appropriate, polite reference to a woman who is obviously overweight is "full figured". But, don't expect politeness from many who come here. I personally find the misspelling phatazz as insulting & hurtful for a woman, but, they use it here all the time.
I feel fairly sure your change of heart in accepting the word "thick" as complimentary is more who is saying it. I doubt you'd accept that same reference from what you might consider an inferior white man.
Speaking of insulting references, however, a lot of males (myself included) might find it a bit offensive to be referred to as "white boiz", again, intended as a derogatory word when misspelled.
All these derogatory words can be offensive and hurtful when spoken in a mixed crowd. What one accepts or says when conversing privately with an individual might be totally different, however.

My guy, you got it all wrong! At fat ass(overweight) is a term the white community used/uses! That’s never been our thing, hence forth came our take ((Phat Azz))! Which was always specifically pointing out the shape, roundness & fullness of a big booty girl!
Don't bother explaining ******* to that dude. He always talking out the side of his neck, writing 'dissertations' on ******* he don't even know wtf he talking about 🤨

But see, the terms " thick" and " phat" were never meant for you. They started in the black community YEARS AGO. Not our fault you ventured over here and got insulted lol

lol I have NEVER heard a black male use the term rubunesque... lol

Amazing the differences between races. lol

But I bet she starts to like the term "thick" if the right person says it... lol
Neither of her long term black lovers ( one 50yo and one 45yo) have ever called her "thick", or her short term ones......... LOL. See our post: Our story so far.

BTW, it was a very handsome and athletic Black Man who taught me better.

I didn't look at other posts here but it probably has been mentioned already. I have stated my opinion regarding this term in at least one other posts. The term initially was supposed to be a positive. However nowadays I run from those using the term since it has been claimed by women that are plus size or overweight. It was supposed to refer to women with normal body types but with curves. Actually curvy is another term that has been stolen in the same way that I run from. Thick and curvy were supposed to represent an ideal shape with a normal or thin waist and wide hips with an onion booty and nice C or D breasts. This is my idea of thick or curvy. If a woman is over 180 lbs with the exception of being tall she is likely not curvy or thick but just overweight or a BBW.

Furthermore in my opinion many ladies think breasts and butts can not be to big. In my opinion both can be to big if they are disproportionate to your body size.

My ideal weights for women are from 90-165 lbs depending on height of less than 5 ft to about 5 ft 9 inches with a few exceptions of course. If 5'9" to 6 ft 3 inches possibly up to 185 lbs or more.
