I hate to rain on your parade but interracial activities are a minuscule part of our society although growing. There are still lots who don’t approve and will do anything in their power to stop it if they can get away with doing so. With regard to your suggestion, it an excellent idea as it would show we aren’t all thugs with big ducks that you crave. Thankfully, more who venture to interact with us already know that. I can’t begin to tell you the number of times I walk into an elevator where there is a white female and instead of saying hello, she immediately clutches your pocketbook tighter. Sadly, that’s the reality and it does nothing to endear a black male to interact with you. With that said, in an environment conducive to interaction, that tends to not happen as much is: bar or sporting event, concerts, etc.
Your book club idea is a great one but will only be accomplished over time when the stigma changes and white women TRULY start feeling comfortable around black men outside of when we are sexual with them !!
