Having said that you will probably regret it later if you did not explore this possible path.
My suggestion would be to first have a deep conversation with each other 2 or 3 if necessary.
Once you both have a firm agreement on what will work without damaging your marriage.
If you both agree that if this agreement is always going to be your bedrock set up a meeting with your potential long term.
Before anything relationship wise commences get a firm consensus on what is required to fit within your relationship commitments.
