I'm a teacher and I believe that any teacher that has sex with one of their students should go to prison for a long time. It especially angers me when I see that male teachers usually get prison and female teachers often get probation.

It doesn't matter if the student is over the age of consent. It doesn't matter if the student is 18 and legally an adult. When parents send their children to school they are trusting teachers like me to not only give their children an education; they also expect us to keep their children safe. Unfortunately with all of the school shootings lately keeping them safe isn't always possible. But we try.

I consider it a privilege to be trusted enough to make an impact on a baby's life. Every time something likes this happens it erodes the public's trust in our education system.

You bring up a good point about age of consent. In a school or a business setting there are people that hold power over other people. Regardless of the perceived consent when one of the participants holds power over the other there really can't be consent. Children are especially vulnerable most are figuring out their sexuality and too often can look to the wrong place for that knowledge

Teachers and others who have sex with ******* people, need to be punished. It isn't right. I also think that women shouldn't get a slap on the wrist for having sex with students. I feel they should be punished just like the guys. I know a person who was over the age of 25, she had sex with a 15 year old. She got 6 months in prison, community service and must register as a sex offender. She was also given early release due to being a model prisoner. Personally she should have gotten a lot more jail time. The 15 year old felt like they had no choice but to have sex with her. I feel those who are in authority of anyone should respect that and not hit on or put others in a position that they feel they can't say no. This is just my opinion.

I'm a teacher too. The age of consent is kind of irrelevant here imo. There is a contract between families and teachers. So, much like a police officer using their position of power/responsibility to take advantage of and have sex with a member of the public, teachers should not either.
Children may look grown up - be over 6 foot and have beards even, but scratch the surface and they are still children in many ways and unable to detect when someone is abusing their position for sex.

I'm the third teacher giving the same opinion... it is not a matter of age. In a teacher-student relationship, there is a person in a position of power and the other is often easily impressionable. The cases of students who belive they have found the love of their lives among the teachers are common. Other students just find very appealing the idea of "fucking" their teachers. In both cases, a person cannot use his job to find sex with youngsters, and his working decisions would be conditioned at all times by that relationship.
