If the newspaper is well loved by everyone, then it's not doing the job of holding leaders, personalities and even us as readers accountable.
Another reason is because it gets more breaking news from around the planet than any other publication.

However, if you go Mel Gibson, they will not want to work with you, and your career will be on life support. Unless you can make independent shitty movies until all if forgiven.
