I have commented about this before in other threads, so if you’ve read my responses before, please don’t be offended!
Prior to the pill, it was considered, but never spoken about, that men, especially in middle and upper class income levels would have affairs. We saw this in “Mad Men” and countless other movies during that timeframe.
Women had three things running against them:
- By and large, they weren’t in the workplace. Sitting at home for most of the time precluded other adult interaction
- As such, they had no independent means of support. Their husband brought home the wages, so if she ‘had fun’ she stood an outstanding chance of losing some if not all of her financial support.
- But by far, the most important consideration was impregnation. Sure, males could use condoms, but most didn’t.
These issues, while not completely eliminating female sexual adventures, put a serious dent in them! Then along came the pill, IUD, and other safe and effective forms of Birth Control.
Like any other social change, it took time to gather momentum. However, now that women are fully integrated into the workplace, they have independent means of support and they do have a reliable form of birth control, the pendulum is beginning to swing (rather fast) back towards the middle of ‘non-conventional relationships’
Females will start having affairs as much as men were 50-plus years ago. Also, by being in the workplace, females have met with success, which instills confidence and a sense of power. I believe that these two perceptions provide the motivation for the female in the relationship to express to her spouse what she wants, needs and desires more freely than if she still didn’t have these attributes.
Hence, the rise, and continued rise, in non-traditional relationships (Cuckolding, Stag/Vixen, pure Open Relationships, etc). So now let’s turn to interracial situations.
This is an off-shoot of the developing non-traditional relationship I described above. SOME women are curious about Blacks. SOME women enjoy Blacks. But remember, you are in an interracial forum. So you ladies out there (Myself very much included) have already identified with what interests you and have sought it out.
So, after spending a bunch of time reading contributions to this forum, it’s easy to get the impression that Black/White relationships are ‘sweeping the nation’ – while I agree that open relationships might very well be, the increase in open situations has led to an increase in Black/White relationships.
For example, we don’t discuss other sexual interests in this forum. I would wager to say that people who are interested in other sexual play would, after reading a forum dedicated to what they like, would believe that their unique fetish was ‘sweeping the nation’ as well.
So, in conclusion; Do I believe that open relationships (Cuckolding, Stag/Vixen, other aspects) are increasing percentage wise. Yes I do. At a very rapid rate.
Do I believe that this will become generally accepted. Yes, more than it is now.
Do I believe that Black/White relationships (Traditional man/wife) will increase? Yes, at a tremendous rate – you’re already seeing it on television and other media.
Do I believe that Black/White open relationships (where the Black is the Bull). Yes, but as a factor of percentile of open relationships in general.
I know, I tend to ‘run off at the fingers’ but I’ve never believed in only partially responding to a question. I’ve read a lot on the topic, allowing me to come to the conclusions outlined above. If anyone wishes to discuss this further, they may contribute directly to the thread, or shoot me a private note. Either way, look forward to continued observations!
