This past summer some friends asked if I could arrange something different for them for a couple of weekends as cottages were impossible to get from covid reasons. So I arranged two weekends of house boating and another I got with and old fire watch tower cabin. Could not have asked for better.

i learned that if you anchor 120 feet from the shore the bugs leave you alone. There was lots of swimming most of it skinny dipping. We took along two kayaks and a canoe for those that wanted some quiet time. We BBQ all the meals. The price was about a third of the cost a hotel room .

the watch tower weekend was even better as the couple was into thunder and lighting storms. We arrived and got set up before the showers started. However with the space heater going the tower was nice and toasty. Friday night was a eight hour lighting storm out of the north west. We had about 12 hour sunny period on Saturday followed by a 4 hour lighting storm out of the south east. As the storm rotated just to the north of us. Could not ask for a better weekend for those two.

they even tried to give us a discount due to the bad weather. We refused saying the weather gave is some great down time to read and play board games.

in reality they had hours of great sex with a lighting show in the back ground. The day was spent hanging out clothes free.
