If the use of Thimerosal is so safe, then why did the European Union abandon using in their c.hildhood vaccines? Moreover, following a review of mercury-containing food and ******* mandated in 1999, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics asked vaccine manufacturers to remove thiomersal from vaccines as a purely precautionary measure, and it was rapidly phased out of most U.S. and European vaccines. If it thimerosal was considered so safe why did America and the EU ultimately heed the word of RFK Jr?
You said it...a purely precautionary measure. The CDC certainly didn't "heed the word of RFK Jr. RFK Jr and the rest of the anti-vax quacks convinced enough of the knuckle dragging public that Thimerosal was the cause of autism that it became a political hot topic. People who actually knew and understood the science knew it was bogus, but finally said what the hell....take out the Thimerosal and let see what happens. Guess what....nothing changed.....why not? Obviously nothing would change since the real cause of autism is organic food:

Just offering up another view point, is all. Saving babies might start in the womb, but it last for many years going forward. If parents are ****** to have babies they can't afford, at least the right thing is to support the entirety of the responsibility, otherwise they end up on the streets and become a bigger burden to society.
This is an interesting (and fairly common) take on the reason and purpose for legal abortion because:
  • It presumes that it is axiomatic that the lower class (those who cannot afford to raise c.hildren) present a burden to society. This further presumes that society is comprised of those who contribute -- the elite, if you will -- and that the elite have the right to decide who will participate in society.
  • Based on the elite's right to terminate lower class pregnancies, it further presumes that a lower class c.hild has no chance of overcoming his/her circumstances. It presumes that the risk is too great that the c.hild will become a burden.
  • If one truly accepts this argument that the lower class is a burden that should be minimized by abortion, then there is little reason for the elite to tolerate the lower class who is already born and causing the actual burden -- extended out, this argument leads to genocide -- and genocide does actually happen.
Now I do understand that Mac is actually advocating for society to pay the lower class's c.hild rearing costs -- to enable social upward mobility. I get that. But the argument still consists of pay for the kid or we ******* the kid. There is a very frightening sense of superiority in that -- and the superiority is economic. Kind of let them eat cake.

Well, no you don't understand my point, nanci. Its unfortunate that we are restricted to the confines of a forums to discuss a very sensitive issue such as abortion. In order, however, to explain my opinion on such an issue, I would need to reconstruct the entire case for abortion, and I have neither the time nor desire to take up 2-3 pages of the forum to do that, especially with someone who is already unreceptive to any form of abortion. Politics is way too polarized as it is, and right now, the primary discussion in politics is the election.
I don't believe that a human has developed until it has passed its embryonic stage. I don't support late term abortions, and I don't agree that a woman should be able to have an abortion when she wishes, particularly at government's expense. Also, you might support birth control pills to avoid pregnancies, but you should realize that the birth control pill is a form of abortion. Ask any Catholic priest.
Conservatives (mainly the religious right) don't believe in abortion at all, but, once the baby is born, they don't feel its the government's responsibility to provide assistance to poor families to care for the baby as it grows, such as the SNAP program, or well-baby care, etc. And its often the government that's put a lot of parents in the "poor house" to begin with ... like Republican's "trickle down" economics, which has basically destroyed the middle class in America.
I'm sure you have your own opinion ... everyone has one ... everyone else's stinks, right? JUst answer this question to yourself ... if your 12 year old ******* was abducted, raped, and impregnated by a baby molestor (draw your own mental picture here), would you insist on her brining that pregnancy to full term? That's the only way I know to get those against abortion to think their answer, against abortion, through.
Right now I'm focused on maintaining voter's right in America. Whether you've noticed or not, our very constitution is under attack by nationalism and facism. Trump has made no bones about the fact that he intends to "cheat" once again and rig an election. So, if you have more to say to me regarding politics, it needs to be on the upcoming election topics ... voter suppression, mail-in voting, Russian interference, etc ... I have no time for sub-topics right now.
Thanks! Mac
