Legend of Zelda : Link's Awakening (1993) :

1993 - The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening.jpg

This game is a classic Game Boy legend. A game that bathes in a very melancholy atmosphere. Endearing characters, truly unforgettable musical themes and exemplary gameplay. It's the emotion that definitely sets it apart from its predecessor A Link to the Past, which perhaps offers a greater challenge, but less emotion, less magic. This is a vast, innovative and original Zelda whose new features paved the way for the legendary Ocarina of Time. What would Zelda be without Link's Awakening ?

Star Wars : Dark Forces (1995) :

1995 - Star Wars - Dark Forces.jpg

Dark Forces, the basis of today's FPS, was and still is an excellent adaptation of Star Wars. The graphics at the time were simply magnificent, a great feat for 1995. A soundtrack that immediately immerses us in the Star Wars universe, quite successful cutscenes, and excellent gameplay. A well thought-out scenario in the extended universe, our first contact with the famous Kyle Katarn, also hero of all the opuses that will follow. A real gem for the time.

Warcraft II - Tides of Darkness (1996) :

1996 - Warcraft II - Tides of Darkness.jpg

A cult real-time strategy game, with good graphics for the time. Warcraft II - Tides of Darkness is the game that helped put the franchise on the map and greatly expanded the story of the world of Warcraft. The epic soundscape perfectly matches the fantasy universe. Just a magnificent game.

Broken Sword : The Shadow of the Templars (1996) :

1996 - Les Chevaliers de Baphomet.jpg

An excellent point'n'click due to the very high quality of its scenario, its puzzles and its characters. Throughout the plot, the game invites us to discover the history of the Order of the Templars while taking us to Paris, Ireland, Spain and Syria. The best game in the Broken Sword saga.

Star Wars : X-Wing vs TIE Fighter (1997) :

1997 - Star Wars - X-Wing vs TIE Fighter.jpg

One of the best space combat simulators in the Star Wars universe. I will recommend this game to any Star Wars fan who wants to feel like they are really flying in an X-Wing or a TIE Fighter ! A classic game !

Myth : The Fallen Lords (1997) :

1997 - Myth - The Fallen Lords.jpg

A forgotten gem but above all an excellent real-time tactics game whose narration passages between each chapter, the dark music and the violence of the combat offer a guaranteed atmosphere and immersion.

Any gamers on this platform? I'm in slight decline of the gaming industry today
but i love my classics my console by default is well....
But i prefer PC Games cause im a system builder lol, i enjoy Halo, GTA Online, Helldivers 2
GoldenEye etc... Was wondering if you guys share the same interests in games, just thought I'd create a fun thread.
What games are you all currently playing? whats your main platform? 🤓
I used to be a better gamer than I currently am. I find myself going back and playing a lot of the older games versus seeking out too many newer ones. I kind of feel like the new ones are rushed out and just seeking additional DLCs and memberships versus putting out an enjoyable game with re-playability.

I think it is funny people call themselves gamers when they play a drop on the bucket. I'm a gamer, I play boardgames (got about $3,000 worth), TTRPG, Pool, darts, XBox, & PC. I PUT Xbox and PC last because to me they are eh.

Commandos : Behind Enemy Lines (1998) :

1998 - Commandos - Derrière les lignes ennemies.jpg

The very first Commandos, just exceptional ! A real little gem of infiltration, we play a commando of six soldiers who are experts in different disciplines. Grouped for 20 missions during the 2nd World War, there is a very specific objective for each of them. As you progress, everything becomes very difficult and you really have to spend your time analyzing everything. In summary, it's an absolutely brilliant game and the numerous suites and add-ons only reinforce the quality of this illustrious license.

Icewind Dale (2000) :

2000 - Icewind Dale.jpg

Exceptional game, the Infinity Engine has unparalleled mystical charm and unrivaled artistry to spark the player's imagination. The former Black Isle studio, to which we owe the fabulous Fallout 1 and 2 or Planescape Torment, was undoubtedly one of the best RPG developers of all time, with Bioware and Troika Games.
Although quite classic, the story of Icewind Dale keeps us in suspense from start to finish and the twists and turns during our investigation strewn with pitfalls are legion and they maintain the intrigue perfectly.

Baldur's Gate II - Shadows of Amn (2000) :

2000 - Baldur's Gate 2 - Shadows of Amn.jpg

The quintessence of imagination transposed into a video game. A trans-generational lesson for all C-RPG lovers, for all developers, all dreamers, all those who can immerse themselves in the world of the Forgotten Realms. Baldur's Gate II - Shadows of Amn rises to the top of the best RPGs with Fallout 2, it represents the culmination of an entire era.
Rare are the games that immerse you to this extent in their universe. All the ingredients are there and come together wonderfully : immense running time, varied and well-staged action and a breathtaking storyline. Just a magic game !
