As for affirmative action, that, too is a reaction to the unfair economic playing field which prevented blacks from getting the necessary education for obtaining the better jobs, all previously withheld from them. Those whites who complain about that, whining about it being unfair to them, ignore all the inequality blacks have been subjected to for so many generations. They choose to overlook it because they mustn't be made to suffer for what evils their grandparents committed. Affirmative action was a program intended to give blacks a much-needed boost. Racist? Fighting fire with fire until the valley is safe for everybody. Simple as that.
