Like everything else, its a personal preference. AussieSub, IMO ... every relationship is different to a degree. The whole purpose of having and/or creating the various fetish options to cuckolding is to customize it to the couple's enjoyment. Omg, I could only hope that was staged, and not a real situation.
 
I know this kind of humiliation is not for everybody but why did you bring up *******, bodily abuse and someone tying a noose around a girls neck as an example? There is no one way or right way to do anything except for the way it works best for those involved.
It's all different strokes for different folks.

If it works for you, your wife and the other guy, knock your socks off.
